If you missed our last (Mind) Vacation, Trip No. 25, you can find it here.
You could say that while these are just objects (t-shirts, textiles), they're also part of an artist's practice of meaning-making. In your hands, they become a practice of believing that even the everyday can hold presence. It's not about preciousness. It's about allowing the ordinary to gather meaning as you live with it.
So as promised, here's Part 2 to our 2026 kick-off. We're proud to restate OUR BELIEFS and stand our ground as a small business in a big-business world. We're fueled by other small business manifestos, by artist manifestos, and by YOU showing up and being part of our Jenny Pennywood World. We decided this is a working document to be added to. Have you own thoughts? Comment below.
- Jenny Pennywood believes in pattern as something grounding. Repetition, color, the visual rhythm of everyday things.
- Function and expression aren't opposites. Objects can be useful, colorful, and emotionally alive all at once.
- We make things with care: responsible production, local and global, made with attention and respect.
- We embody and make space for curiosity and joy.
- Jenny Pennywood is all about the lived-in and loved feeling.
- We believe that ordinary objects can hold meaning when they're made and used with intention.
- We create pieces that hold you, without pushing or pulling.
